Business student, urban enthusiast & digital resident
My name is Ruben Schmidtmann. I'm working as a project manager for several clients and finishing my Media Economics studies in Ilmenau, Germany.
Having spent years in Berlin – I acquired a taste for media, urban perceptions and great food. For several years I've also lived in Hamburg, Bremen and Tallinn, but currently I'm living in Ilmenau.
My passion is somewhere in-between organizing, designing and creative problem-solving. I don’t like stagnation, but I love moving forward. That's me.
Actually I'm studying Media Economics at the Ilmenau University of Technology in Germany. During my studies I spent one year in Tallinn as an Erasmus student at the Tallinn School of Economics and Business Administration of the Tallinn University of Technology in Estonia studying International Business Administration.
I belief that the future, especially in the business world, will be getting even more global and that there will be more startups and fewer giants - so overall I'm focusing my studies on management, development & entrepreneurship.
Back in 2004, I co-founded Lautwerfer in Berlin, a company specialized on event-technology. Our clients included Lafayette Berlin, Armani, Playboy, Electrolux and Peugeot. After 3 years I decided to study to adapt competencies in the before mentioned fields of business and left Lautwerfer.
I have also been working for other companies and projects - small and big ones (latest: project manager at Airbnb). Therefore, I have many years of experience in project management.
Tumblelog - My blog about everything I like
I love inspiration and the exchange of ideas. One of my favourite quotes is by George Bernard Shaw (via bettertastethansorry):
“If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.”
I'm grateful for all the inspiration:
